Senior Valuer

Prior to commencing with McGees in November 2015, Andrew took a short sabbatical from the industry following some five years as, initially an employee, then as a Director of Opteon (SA).

Opteon (SA) was formed when Southwick Goodyear, the State’s largest non-aligned valuation and property consultancy practice, acquired the business of Opteon South Australia in 2013.

The firm specialised in a broad range of property classes including residential, commercial, industrial, rural and specialised assets such as caravan parks, childcare centres and motels.

From 1998 to 2010 Andrew was employed by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia where he held the position of Senior Property Risk Consultant for 10 years, being responsible for South Australia, the Northern Territory and Broken Hill in New South Wales. This position primarily involved the provision of property consultancy advice to Risk Executives on the value/viability of loan proposals that involved a diverse range of property classes. 

For three years Andrew also held the position of Regional Manager within the Regional and Business Banking Division of the Bank.  Being accountable for a team of some 15 managers and bankers, his duties included servicing the financial requirements of existing and new-to-bank clients throughout regional South Australia together with the management and mentoring of the team.

In the 10 years preceding his employment with the CBA, Andrew was employed as a valuer and or Valuation Manager with a number of organisations including Colliers International, Herron Todd White, Queensland Department of Lands, Egan National Valuers, Adelaide City Council and the South Australian Department of Lands.

Andrew's qualifications include:

  • Graduated from Lincoln University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Valuation and Property Management) in 1984
  • Admitted as an Associate Member of the Australian Institute of Valuers and Land Economists in 1986 with advancement to Fellow in 2015 after circa 30 years in the property industry.
  • Active member of the Australian Property Institute including being a Member of the Board of Examiners
  • Certified Practising Valuer
